Gospel – Matthew 18:15-20
Jesus said to his disciples:
“If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that ‘every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
School Sign
You will have noticed that our new sign is up and running. Thank you to Camp Australia for the significant contribution they made to making this happen. We will be continually updating the messages, highlighting upcoming events, celebrating recent events and sharing relevant images and news.
Father’s Day liturgy
A huge thank you to our ELC students who led the school on Monday morning in a beautiful Father’s Day liturgy.
Referendum
The date has been confirmed as Saturday October 14. We will be a polling place. This is a great opportunity to be involved, as we will host a sausage sizzle and cake stall. More information to come.
Walkathon
The walkathon will be held in week 2 of term 4. More information to come. The focus of the fund raising will be to repair and upgrade the netball court surface.
Holiday projects
Stage 1 of the shelter shed project will occur in the September holidays. This involves the removal of the current surface and the replacement with asphalt. Once this is completed, we will need to wait for the next part of the project, which will be painting and sealing.
The other building project is the installation of a covered walkway between the portable building on the oval and the shelter shed. This should then complete the new classroom project.
Hats
With the increase in UV levels, we will return to wearing hats as of next Monday. The uniform shop has plenty in stock. I have been asked about transitioning to Summer uniform. At this stage I am comfortable with students wearing either uniform, based on their needs and the weather.
Start of Term 4 Date
Term 4 begins on Monday October 9. The pupil free day for Term 4 is at the end of the term. This will enable teachers to complete first aid requirements as well as meet and plan in their new teams.

Thank you to our wonderful ELC staff and students for their preparations of the Father's Day Liturgy.
Thank you to our wonderful Prayer and Service peer group who are constantly stepping up and leading their peers in prayer, including spending their own time to learn the readings at Mass and proclaim the Word.
Funky Friday - Friday 22 September
On the last day of term 3 we will be holding a Funky Friday. Your child can come to school with a wacky hair-do, funky socks and mufti clothes. To participate in our Funky Friday your child will need to bring in a gold coin donation. We will come around and collect the coins from your child’s classroom on the day. The money that we raise will be donated to the Catholic Mission. They are a group of people that teach kids in poor countries about the Catholic faith and they provide food for the centre of child development. The money will help make a difference in communities, children’s lives and also future church leaders around the world. So dress up your child and get in on the fun! Crazy hair, wacky socks and mufti clothes.

ELC NEWS
Happy Birthday to Felix D and Teddy W.
Happy ‘Early Childhood Educators Day’ to our wonderful team of ELC teachers and educators.
Thank you to everyone who was able to come to our Father’s Day celebrations last Friday and Monday. We hope that the dads all had a wonderful weekend. This week, we enjoyed a visit from Constable Kenny Koala. He spoke to the children about how to stay safe, stranger danger and road safety. We even got to have a look at Constable Kenny’s special police car.
You will notice that gnomes and special messages have started popping up in the gardens around the ELC just in time for Floriade. Each year the ELC supports the Canberra Rotary Club by purchasing their Floriade Gnomes.
Kinder and ELC orientation
Orientation morning for St Jude’s 2024 Kinder and 2024 ELC will be on Wednesday 8 November. St John Vianney’s 2024 Kinder Orientation will be on Wednesday 1 November. Watch this space for more information.
ELC School Holiday Program
There are places available in the ELC Holiday Program. Casual bookings are available for $150 per day. The Holiday Program runs from 8am – 5:30pm. ELC uniforms are not required. Families are still required to pack food for fruit break, lunch, afternoon tea and a late afternoon snack. The canteen is not operational during the school holiday periods.

Father's Day Breakfast

For any and all uniform needs, orders can be placed via the Uniform Shop tab on Qkr!, or via email to: uniform.stjudes@gmail.com for any second hand items. **Please do not make payment for secondhand items, until we reply to your request confirming stock is available.
If there is ever an issue with an order, please email the uniform shop and we will endeavour to fix this as soon as possible. Similarly if items are missing from Qkr! or marked 'stock not available', please let us know and we can order stock with relatively quick turnaround times.
